Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

This policy explains what Sojourn collects, why, and what you can do about it. Sojourn helps people organize a life lived across borders. We try to collect as little as we need, and to be clear about the rest.

Who we are

Sojourn (“Sojourn”, “we”, “us”) operates this website and the Sojourn service. Sojourn is operated by Schoen Ltd, a company based in Cyprus, which is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can reach us at hey@sojourn.day.

What we collect

  • Waitlist details. If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you give us so we can let you know when access opens.
  • Account information. When accounts are available and you create one, we store the details needed to run your account, such as your email and authentication data.
  • What you add to Sojourn. When the product is live, this includes the countries, stays, dates, notes, and documents you choose to record. This is your content, and it is private to you by default.
  • Technical data. Like most websites, we receive basic technical information such as your approximate location (from your IP address), device and browser type, and pages visited. We keep this to a minimum.

How we use it

We use your information to operate and improve Sojourn: to run the waitlist, to provide and secure your account, to store the movement and memories you choose to keep, to respond to you, and to understand how the product is used so we can make it better. We do not sell your personal data.

Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent (for the waitlist and any marketing email), the performance of a contract (to provide the service you sign up for), and our legitimate interests (to keep the service secure and to improve it). You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who processes data for us

We use a small set of trusted providers to run Sojourn, and share only what each one needs: Supabase (database and authentication), Resend (email), Vercel (hosting and basic analytics), and Plausible (privacy-friendly website analytics). They process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

Cookies and analytics

We keep cookies to a minimum. We use privacy-friendly analytics that avoid invasive tracking, and we do not use advertising cookies.

Data retention

We keep waitlist emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Account and content data is kept while your account is active, and deleted within a reasonable period after you close it or ask us to.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Every waitlist email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can exercise any of these rights by writing to hey@sojourn.day.

International transfers

Sojourn is built for people who move between countries, and some of our providers may process data outside your home country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No online service can promise perfect security, but we work to keep what you trust us with safe.

Children

Sojourn is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as Sojourn grows. When we make meaningful changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know.
